According to the OHM in Chamonix the Balcon de la Mer de Glace is closed following a major serac fall on the 8th of October from the Charpoua glacier, the Balcon de la Mer de Glace is no longer practical. All the slopes below the Charpoua to the Mer de Glace have been affected.
