The second dump of October fell last week. I was away but some of my friends managed to get out for the morning. It’s mostly gone from the altitude in the pictures (between 1400m and 1700m in the Haute Savoie) but it remains on the north facing slopes above 2000m. Pictures and a short video here.

I love the little chalet. Your mate likes his pies!

It’s true, he is a fairly unusual climber of hills.

Respect. He’s obviously as strong as an ox. Is it Avoriaz?

It was on Mt Chery (Les Gets). It has a grassy base - essential on days like that!

He is very strong. He rides his bike almost everyday in the summer, 3 times a week in the autumn and randonnees twice a week in the winter. We did the TMB on our bikes a few weeks ago.

Some uninspiring shots from Moléson last week : http://snowslider.net/2008/10/30/game-on-moleson/

Looks to have melted at that height now, I’ll be in Scotland next week and I’m hopeful of some sport when I get back.

we are set for some cold weather and snow over the latter art of the week over here in Innsbruck. I was at the Pitztal glacier over the weekend and had great powder skiing:
