Heading to Cham (argentiere) next weekend and am looking for a guide for a day of off piste. Poss Pas de Chevre on the to-do list but am not 100% on the area so will be advised by weather/conditions/recommendations.

Does anyone have any recommendations of good guides used in the past?

Many thanks

Hi, try John at He is an english guide who is based in les Houches and is great. I’m sure he’ll check what’s in condition and make some suggestions. It’s been a very odd season so far with a very week base layer so worth chatting with a local.
Enjoy and send John my regards
Darren

Also worth a go is Andy Perkins.. lived in Cham for some years so knows the area really well, also a notable climber.. and an all round top bloke! http://www.andypmountainguide.com/

another great guy is Paolo http://www.paolopieroni.it .. based in the Aosta valley, he skis alot in the cham area. really worth a call.

Roland Steiger, ex head of Mountain Rescue in Chamonix Valley, is also a great guide. You’ll have to look him up via google or via tourist office tho as do have his details to hand. I went over to Courmayeur with him early last month on Ski Club of GB trip- great day & well guided.
