Mammut PULSE Barryvox Updated Firmware

Mammut have announced details of an updated firmware, version 4.0, available from mid October. It’s an enhancement to fine search, that is less than 3 m. At this range search arrows guide you forwards/backwards, left/right during the cross phase of the search finally displaying a target sign when you are over the victim (see video)

There’s more detail at http://www.mammut.ch/basecamp/en/basecamp-news/barryvox_2013_firmware_update

I’m slightly perplexed by the positioning of this in regards to the Element. The Element eliminates crosshair search for the landing strip which is credited to Manuel Genswein and the default in the BASIC profile for the PULSE. The new method seems simpler again for inexperienced users so you’d think it was a Element feature and I can’t see any hardware limit in the Element that would stop it be available there. Right now, it’s not announced for the Element.
