Distance: 66.2 km

Slope Aspect: Various

Vertical Descended: 8,414 meters

Description

In theory the closing weekend at les 7 Laux although they often extend the season if the conditions are good. We skied over the Pleynet side first then did a couple of "top to bottoms" from the col du Pouta to Prapoutel. Great way to end the local season although there is still potentially another month of piste skiing in the French alps. There was enough terrain open for the morning but we probably covered everything by 2pm.

Conditions

Perfect on piste. Powder off piste at altitude. Not great on unpisted runs due to the number of tracks. All the off piste was tracked out despite the level 3 avalanche warning. There was a small avalanche under the Cabottes on a convex roll over and another large avalanche at 13h15 which saw the rescue services check the debris. Fortunately no victims.
