Grand Rocher ski race at Barioz. It is a relay. First part is a 1150 meter skimo race. 120 racers set off in a mass start and there are 5 transitions to do en-route. Not easy and Mike did this bit with 3hours activity. I took over for an 11km cross country ski race on some pretty rough and sticky snow to be honest with huge ruts in places. It was difficult to ski correctly although lighter skiers had less trouble. 50 minutes for the 11km at the top, not great but good in the conditions.
It had snowed 10cm overnight. The piste had been reprepared this morning but was difficult to ski with soft snow, icy snow and lots of ruts and holes. Snow was sticky after 11am.
