Mountain Biking (5)
Road Cycling (1)
Snow Shoeing (6)
We probably should have ridden against the wind to start with as it was very hard getting home across the Steppes of the Gresivaudan.
This is becoming our regular winter ride but the singles are too wet at the moment until I service my front fork.
Banks of the Isere south
This is a good option if it is damp as the tow paths along the side of the Isere are well drained. You can ride as far as the Grenoble and beyond but pick up a surfaced path at Gieres going south.
Tales of the riverbank
I fancied some flat riding today and decided that a trip up and down the river as far as the town of Pontcharra would fit the bill. I've not ridden the whole of this route before.
Climb the combe d'Arpire to the south until to reach the col then follow the short ridge to right (west) to the summit.
Chamrousse Nordic Park
la Mure des Molles
Starting from les Bletieres (or the Col du Lauteret) climb the trail to les Fournelles then the Rau (river) de Pre Boutey to the Col du Lauteret.
Start at the Col des Ayes car park after the final left hand hair pin about 400 meters before the col.
Le No Name
From the reservoirs follow the broken tarmac road towards the Tour d'Arces. The track is very steep, around 15%. Continue past the tower and continue to the Pierre Grosse.
Jas des Lièvres, south face
Follow the road to the Pont de la Betta then a forest trail to the habert d'aiguebelle (refuge - unguarded). From here you can climb either by the east or south face.
