Technical

Minimum altitude: 1,128 meters

Distance: 15.6 km

Slope Aspect: East

Vertical Climbed: 366 meters (1,201 feet)

Vertical Descended: 357 meters

Description

Back on classic skis today. Hard work with soft snow and lots of jumping in and out of the rails due to the thaw. Footprints everywhere. A lot melted since yesterday. The black loop from les fontanettes is probably still worth doing, as is the traverse across the top of the Chemin de l'Herse but best to stop where it starts to twist and turn.  In any case no point starting from St Hils now.

Conditions

11C at 1100 meters. A lot has melted since yesterday. Icy in the shade, soft and sticky in the sun. The two climbs are not in great shape... watch out for stones, rocks and bare sections. Nice views though.
