Guided Group Hit by Avalanche
A group of four ski tourers accompanied by high mountain guide were hit by an avalanche on the west side of the Col du Replat, close to the ski resort of les Deux Alpes, today. The group was in the Selle Valley when the avalanche struck.
Two members of the group suffered injuries, to a shoulder and a knee. The rescue services were unable to reach the scene due to the poor weather conditions. Instead the group descended to the refuge de la Selle where they were transported to hospital.
