Distance: 13 km

Trip Reports

Vertical Climbed: 369 meters (1,211 feet)

Description

Some bare patches on the Brimbelles. Particuarly the descent back to the foyer and on the section on the far side of the plateau. The Astragale Back North section was in good condition as was the Patinette. I didn't try the Lievre as reports were of lots of stones. The snow was soft in sunlight, hard, icy even, in the shade. I stopped just after 2pm as the snow was getting too soft on the descents.

I've never seen so many people. No room in the car park unless you parked 2km from the start. I ended up parking in Chamrousse 1750 and taking the path down to the plateau, which was a very good plan. Lots of queues for the cafe, lift passes (I have a season pass so no worries) and ski hire. We fortunately had a table at the cafe which was the main purpose of the trip (Sunday lunch).

Zero isotherm at 3000m!

Weather: Warm and sunny, very warm!
