Météo France maintains a network of automatic monitoring stations throughout the Alps and Pyrénées mountains. These give current snow conditions, wind record (but no direction) and temperature.
Situated at the CEN Snow Study center on the col du Porte in the [url=http://pistehors.com/backcountry/wiki/Ski-Areas/Chartreuse]Chartreuse Mountains[/url] at 1325 meters.
The Aiguilles Rouges weather statiion is situated at 2330 meters in the Mont-Blanc massif
