Black Diamond Machine

Gear > Ski > Freeride > Black Diamond Machine

With the same dimensions as the new Black Diamond Stigma, the Machine is oriented to carving in hard snow conditions. It has excellent edge hold but the short turn radius would also make it a great ski for trees and gnarly terrain. The kind of thing we see at mid-altitudes in Yurupe. The ski is still quite heavy for randonnee use, 3.4 kg for a pair in 174cm but the narrower waist better suits skinning while still providing float in powder snow conditions. Pure play tourers would better look to the Stigma, unless their programme includes narrow couloir skiing on firm or icy snow.
