This bulletin is produced from an automatic translation using a specialized dictionary for words and phrases relating to snow and avalanches. It should only be used as a complement to the actual bulletin in French. There are a number of reasons why the translation is imperfect including spelling and grammar errors and sentence structures that are too complicated for automated translation.

Meteo-France Briancon, hello.
AVALANCHE BULLETIN
on the ranges of the High Alps and the UBAYE
FOR FRIDAY 12 MARS 2010 (written Thursday, March 11)
valid outside of marked trails and open
RISK ASSESSMENT UNTIL FRIDAY EVENING:
On all ranges:
Above 2100/2400 m: marked risk, Level 3.
Below 2100/2400 m: limited risk, level 2.
WEATHER OUTLOOK UNTIL FRIDAY EVENING:
Partly sunny Friday. The Isotherm is 0 degrees to 1200/1600 m. Low Wind North-East North to 10/20 km / h to 3000 m.
SNOW_CONDITIONS:
The snow is well above normal over all ranges. The ground is snow covered the 900 m and the layer is to ski from 1000/1300 m according to the ranges and guidance. The snow depth at 1500 m is between 40 cm and 1 m 10. A 2000 m, it reached 1.5 m to 2.5 m. The Pelvoux mountain range is the snowiest.
On the surface, there are a few cm of fresh snow or on the most recent rows in sheltered areas but more often it is hard, cardboard wind. South facing slopes in good sunlight wetted surface has the snowpack.
Almost passes and peaks, many slab, ledges and accumulations are present.
STABILITY OF THE SNOWPACK:
MANY slab IN ALTITUDE.
The snowfall that have succeeded have been accompanied by strong winds forming numerous slab Wind fragile.
Below about 2100 to 2400 m sub-layers are fairly well consolidated with the presence of a crust-freezing formed recently, and the avalanche risk is limited. The risk of spontaneous departure is low, only a few surface flows of recent snow and the risk of triggering a slab is limited to a few steep slopes, especially sensitive to high loads.
By cons, above 2100/2400 m, the risks are much more present: the number of slab can sell wind, sometimes the transition from one hiker. High winds that accompanied the snow blew directions vary depending on the ranges and it is therefore difficult to focus greater exposure than others.
The slab, the most recent overlap of old slab thicker. Under these conditions, an overload could cause a major break and then mobilize a large volume of snow.
TREND LATER RISK:
Risk stationary for this weekend.
