Description

I took a detour on the way home. It was very chilly with a north wind. The road works up to Revel seem to be over and I continued through St Jean le Vieux. I'd forgotten how hard this climb is and I was pretty tired when I arrived at the summit. There is then a longish traverse via le Mas Julien and la Combe de Lancey before another climb before St Mury. It was raining in St Mury and I was worried about the descent as I put my rain jacket on - but the rain was due to cloud clagging the end of the narrow valley and things dried out quickly on the descent. There was snow on the tops of the Belledonne mountains, a reminder that winter isn't far off now.

Conditions

Road works are finished on the climb from Domene. A bit wet at the start of the descent. A bit of gravel entering Brignoud. The Brignoud to Crolles road is very lumpy now and needs resurfacing, it feels like riding cobbles.
