The snow was reasonable good so decided to climb to Emeindras at the summit, or nearly, of the ski runs. Of course the descent was icy which meant it was not too reassuring on cross country skis. A good tour for midday. Few people around on the runs. The ski resort is partially open.
Very warm. Lots of slush at village level on the runs. Zero isotherm at 3500 meters today and +18C in the valley. Sticky snow in the sun but good in the shade. Pistes were reasonably clean. One or two spots where the skis dug in a bit and a couple of bare patches on the climb, another week of this sun will not be good but that is what is forecast.
