Description

The col de Marcieu is a small family oriented ski resort located in the French Chartreuse mountains on the Petites Roches plateau between Grenoble and Chambery. There is a restaurant and ski hire. It is served by TransIsere bus 6550 from Grenoble/La Tronche. It is ideal for kids and beginners and also features sledging and tubing. The blue and red piste served by the steep Grand Essarts drag are interesting for more advanced skiers. It also has a cross country ski area oriented towards both beginners and advanced skiers. It is the starting point for a number of ski tours to the Marcieu valley.

Conditions

Spring like weather today. We arrived a bit late at 10.30am. Temperatures were +8C at the summit of the pistes. We largely skied the Grand Essarts runs which were transformed snow, great ski conditions for training.
