3rd hottest Swiss winter for 150 years

The fat lady hasn't yet sung on 2014 but Météo Suisse are claiming that this winter is the third hottest since 1864 without a single flake falling on Geneva or Neuchâtel except for a very short spell of snow on the 29th January in Geneva.

Winter was also very wet, from the 1st December to 19th February 635mm of precipitation fell, three times the average.. For example in the Tessin it was the wettest winter since 1950/1. Bale had no frost at all, the first time that's happened for 150 years.

The outlook to the start of March is for warm weather so there is not much chance of a cold snap changing the situation.
