Down a crevasse

Last week Brandon, an American tourist on his first day of a ski trip to Chamonix, founds himself at the bottom of a crevasse. Boarding on the glacier de Rognon he didn't see the crevasse as it was bridged with fresh snow, there were many tracks across the bridge. He ended up on another snow bridge inside the crevasse, about 15 meters below the surface.

His adventure was mentioned in an article about the Chamonix pisteurs. The rescue cost 665€ but the article mentions that rescue costs can reach 16,000€.
