Saw this video over on http://snowheads.com/

http://vimeo.com/6581009

It shows a two groups of skiers. According to Choppy

two groups went up in the bird, and the first group did all the normal day-after-storm-cycle snow pit and snow quality tests.

The first group decided that while the dangers remained high, that it was good to go. They all made some of the sickest pow turns in their lives I was told. The next group then - a couple hundred meters or so over - set up for their descent.

He was only buried for 4 and a half minutes which is incredibly short. In that time, though, you can hear his breathing already accelerate.

The victim was wearing an Avalung, but maybe because he was chatting too much he didn’t get it fully into his mouth during the slide (this must be quite hard anyway).

He looks like an ok skier, he’ skiing quite fast and straight which probably helps to reduce weight on the snowpack but the first thing I noticed (apart from everyone says Dude all the time - like an episode of Harper’s Island) is that he puts his hands into his sturdy pole straps. If you want to get in idea of the effect this has get someone to lever the pole around your wrist with your hands in the hole straps. People have broken arms and wrists doing this. Big no no and makes me think he needs to get out of his helicopter and do some touring with some experienced skiers.
