Sentier Du Facteur From Bourg D Oisans

Description
This is the old postman's trail from Bourg d'Oisans to Villard Reymond. From le Bourg dÂ’Oisans (793 meters) follow the N91 in the direction of Grenoble for 2 km then the D526 towards Ornon then the D210 (or the old road if you don't want any cars) to the very authentique village of Villard Reymond. Cross the village to the col du Solude (1680m).
At the col follow the unmade road that traverses to Villard Notre-Dame and at the first corner to the right continue straight ahead on a road closed to traffic. After 2km of descent the track becomes a nice single track with around 40 hairpins. Some are very exposed but all can be done with feet clipped into pedals. You arrive behind the avalanche dyke that protects Bourg d'Oisans. Traverse the dyke behind the high school (lycee) to return to the town of Bourg d'Oisans
Variations
At the start of the descent there is a single track with hairpins that avoids the first 2km on the trail. Obviously this is more technical.

Trip Reports
12 November 2005
We almost gave up after 500 meters of climbing due to rain. A big discussion then finally we set off for Villard Reymond on drying roads. Marci and I pushed on to the town followed by el Ced and Marika who were less motivated. The descent is not incredibly technical except for 4 of the bends which merit the '4' grading. It is a bit easier than the Malaine singles for example.
