It snowed a couple of days ago but with a strong refeeze conditions seemed good to try some crust skiing and cross over to the Grand Rocher from Pipay.

The route forms part of the "71" cycle network maintained by the departmental of the Saône et Loire.

A short ski tour with tot to get some exercise before lunch. Excellent skiing conditions in the border cross with the fresh snow. Lots of people from all over the place despite the lockdown.

Return to the scene of the crime with Luc but this time with around 15cm of fresh snow that fell the night before.

It has been very cold this week, even if the car thermometer showed 17C in the afternoon the cold north wind has kept the snow hard at altitude.

Cross Country Ski AreaThe cross country ski area has 23km of prepared cross country trails. This may seem small but there is no doubling up of runs as you get in some resorts.

A little trip back to the Collet d'Allevard for a Sunday tour. It was pretty hot - t-shirt weather for climbing. A lot of people doing the same as us and enjoying the mountains.

A return to the excellent Allevard. Hotter this weekend but tot was motivated for the summit. We skied down via the red, a bit overcooked on the steep pitch but frozen ruts in the shade.

There isn't really a nordic ski area at the Collet d'Allevard but this year, as the lifts are shut, they'd prepared a small "loipe" at the Super Collet.

Final tour of the half term holidays with Tot. We started from Pre Rond and climbed to la Plagne, Quite warm. Descent via the face (rouge) which was tracked out then the pistes.
