I had to go to the 7 Laux ski resort as I had something to pick up. I decided to arrive early and do a small ski tour.

Cycling in the Alps is starting to get depressing. The PR at the Col d'Hurtières belongs to a certain Colin Savioz on Strava, 24 minutes. I took 50 for 700m over 8km.

I've done ski touring from Theys via les 4 chemins twice, so I know that the road is tarmac as far as the crossroads.

The ski resort of Chamrousse had decided to open the main gondola lift for the May bank holidays.

Traditional end of season at les Arcs. We had monster snow fall a week ago but no sign of it now with lots of bare slopes.

A little blast around the pistes of Allevard. No real queues for the end of the holidays but quite a few kids groups on the slopes so quite busy. The snow is holding up quite well.

Run along the banks of the Saone. As I got closer to the peninsula the wind got stronger. The target was 5m45s for each km. I didn't quite manage it.

Run along the Saone from work. First of 2025. Pace was an apparently leisurely 6m09s for 5k at 155bpm with the fastest 1k split at 5m41s.

Last cross country ski this Christmas. I wanted to try out some Atomic Gen skis - these are shaped cross country skis a bit like cross country carving skis.

The avalanche risk finally dropped enough to open the Beldina nordic ski area; part of the 7 Laux ski area.
