First day of teaching evaluation for the BASI L2. In the morning we had a classic group, Nikki, Sam and friends from the Adventure Running Company and in the afternoon skate lessons.

Morning was classic evaluations - still not good enough. Afternoon spent square bashing on Descents and Skating technique - particularly posture and arm position.

Usually just the green is open for the night ski but this time they hadn't blocked the trails at the bridge so I took advantage to ski right up to the blue piste.

First day of the BASI Nordic level 2/3 course in Chamonix. Morning spent on classic skis - largely working on double polling technique.

I wanted a flat trip around near where I live just to get some air but not go far or hard as I sprained my ankle on Sunday.

I've got the summer road bike fixed and working so decided to take it out for a spin. first real climbing this year and a return to an old favourite.

After my classic ski on the Herse I wanted to go back on ski it skating but a blizzard arrived out of nowhere so I settled for 5 loops of the Green piste at the Col de Marcieu.

We probably should have ridden against the wind to start with as it was very hard getting home across the Steppes of the Gresivaudan.
