Mountain Biking: Manival with the Croix de Trousset

Wed, 23 April 2014

Technical

Distance: 18.8 km

Trip Reports

Vertical Climbed: 780 meters (2,559 feet)

Vertical Descended: 780 meters

Description

Tour behind the houses. First of all climbed to the Rock of Champ Bertin - a huge stone in the fields behind Bernin. You can boulder and climb on this rock which is about 20 meters high. Then climbed the Manival and descended by the single on the right bank. The first part of the single is technical and I had to carry over a few sections (exposed or steep).

A good tour, hard without being too hard. Feeling a bit better after a being ill with some kind of bronchitus for a month.

Route Taken: Followed Croix de Trousset then Gorge de Manival

Weather: Cloudy, dry

Access: From home.

Country: France Area: Chartreuse Trailhead: Manival

Conditions

All the tracks were dry. The climb to the Cabane de Manival has had a lot of work done on it and is very smooth - but steep.
