Description

A quick "before work" to see what the fresh snow had brought. I started at 7am and with the fog kept my head torch all the way to the summit an hour later. Excellent skiing and no one around.

Parking: le Baure/St Pancrasse du Touvet, Chartreuse Mountains

Conditions

Around 5 to 10cm of fresh snow on a solid but not frozen base. Excellent to ski. The access road was snow covered and not plowed from 1100 meters (le Baure), which seemingly gave some people headaches judging by the skid marks. There was a moderate north-westerly wind at the summit and some snow transport with some more or less cohesive slabs but no weak layers at this altitude.
