Description

Note that from 450 meters only the main track next to the river/torrent is really skiable or climbable. Other tracks are full of brushwood.

Follow the track to the NW then N as far as the Cabane de Manival at 850 meters. From here follow a zig-zag path to the Col du Baure (1200m) noting the numberous "couloirs" that lead down through the forest. Select one of these to ski down. Some have very short steep sections.

The east facing slopes from the Col du Baure / Chateau Nardent can be skied pretty much to the road. You can also tour to Pravouta or Dent de Crolles.

Comments on route: Requires a lot of snow cover to be skiable. At least 25cm on an existing base at 400 meters.

Access: Grenoble > St Nazaire les Eymes > D30. Park either at 450 meters (Manival) or la Fontaine Bonnet.

Country: France Area: Chartreuse Trailhead: Manival
