Description

I heard that my Thursday meeting was delayed which gave a chance to do a quick tour between two weather fronts on Thursday morning. Snow was still good above 1600m - fresh powder on a firm(ish) base. Lower down it was heavy powder. The first turns in the clearing of the Bec Charvet triggered a small surface slab - about 5/10cm depth - nothing to get excited about. At the exit of the clearing we had to contend with some shrubbery. Snow was heavy powder on the trail leading back to the col du Coq. The North facing slopes still had reasonable powder under the tree cover.
