Description

What's to say. A day not to be missed. Fantastic snow, fantastic weather. We wer in Loic's back yard so it was no surprise to come across him on the mountains. We descended with him and Sam more or less together. They had tracked the Rognier which I re-tracked to make it a bit less steep.

The couloir was icy for the first 30 meters which Mike took in his stride, me a bit more cautious. Then excellent powder, very safe to ski, the morning crust had burned off the lower slopes when we descended at around 14h30.

Happy to have skied this iconic couloir that is clearly visible from the autoroute as you drive passed the toll-booth south of Chambery.
