Two ski instructors were killed yesterday by an avalanche on an off-piste run in the Saint-François-Longchamps sector of Valmorel.

La Clusaz Avalanche Victim dies in Hospital

A 14 year Swiss girl, caught by an avalanche in the Haute-Savoie ski resort of la Clusaz died in hospital this evening. The avalanche occurred at 13h30 in the Combe de la Balme sector at 2,400 meters close to the Crintiaux piste.

Snow Shoer killed in the Vosges after Cornice Collapse

A snow shoer was killed at Hohneck in the Vosges after a cornice gave way, he apparently had gone onto the cornice to take photographs of his friends.

Perchman Killed in Meribel Lift Accident

An employee of the ski lift company has been killed in Méribel after an accident at the intermediate station of the Platières cable car.  Reports say that the man was caught by his coat by the mechanism of the motor and suffered from collapsed lungs.

Crazy Allos Breaks Snow Records

As Paris and Marseille shiver in unusual snow falls the ski resort of Allos La Foux in the Alpes de Haute-Provence and linked resort of Pra Loup in the Hautes Alpes have broken their snow depth records this week.  A massive 3 meters of snow can be found at the summit and over 2 meters at the mid station.

Mysantropedesroches reports on SkiPass.com that a 35 year old man has been found dead in one of the many fissures that cover the Flaine ski domain.

One Dead in Between Pistes Avalanche

A skier was killed between the pistes in Chabanon, a ski station close to Digne-les-Bains in the Alpes de Haute-Provence.  The avalanche occurred at 12h45 at around 1,600 meters in a valley situated under a chair lift between two pistes.
