20 year old Woman killed in Tignes avalanche
A 20 year old French woman was killed skiing by an avalanche in Tignes today. She had been skiing in the afternoon with a group that had strayed some meters from marked pistes when they were caught by the slide.

2 Soldiers Killed in Avalanche near Tignes
An avalanche at 2,650 meters on the Rochers de Balme in the Val Claret area of Tignes killed two soldiers last Thursday The soldiers were part of a group of seven ski touring in the early afternoon.

A group of five Italian ski alpinists with a guide were hit by an avalanche today close to the Dôme des Ecrins. The accident occured around 16h30 at 3,500 meters altitude.

Guide killed by Avalanche in l’Alpe d’Huez
A guide was hit by an in Avalanche near l’Alpe d’Huez in the early afternoon, skiing off-piste while descending the Col du Couard. He died later in the day.
A group of eight skiers including the guide set-off an the avalanche around 14h15 while skiing off piste in the Col du Couard sector near the Grandes Rousses range. The guide was test skiing the slope to verify the snow conditions when he started a wind-slab avalanche. He was carried around 100 meters.

Swedish Avalanche Victim Found Alive
A Swedish woman was reported missing in the afternoon after an avalanche was set off by her group of 16 skiers above Valorcine in the Haute Savoie, has been found alive in the village this evening. The victim managed to ski down to the valley by herself. A search operation involving 60 rescuers was aborted after the discovery. The avalanche was around 200 by 300 meters and occurred at 1850 meters in the Tête des Posettes sector in the Mont Blanc range. Three of the 16 members of the group. who were with a guide, were caught. Two of the skiers were dug out immediately but there was no trace of the third.

Two climbers killed by Avalanche
Two climbers were caught by an avalanche while they were climbing a frozen waterfall this afternoon at 2,600 meters altitude close to Monetier-les-Bains in the Hautes-Alpes. The bodies of the two men were found in the early evening by the rescue services. They were taken to Briançon.
