Trifides Claims Another Victim

The notorious Trifides couloir complex has claimed another victim in a collision between two skiers.  The Couloirs are easily accessible from the summit of the la Grave / Vallons de la Meije off-piste ski domain.

The skiers collided at about 2,800 meters altitude.  One of the skiers was killed and the other transported to hospital.

The Trifides consists of 3 main couloirs, The Grand, Central and S, they are clearly visible from the cable car and are heavily skied.  They give about 250 meters of vertical. They have been the location of many tragic accidents.
