Ski Mountaineer in Fatal Crevasse Fall

A ski mountaineer fell forty meters into a crevasse at 3,400 meters close to the Grands Mulets refuge in the Mont Blanc range.  The 26 year old victim was descending Mont Blanc with his brother and a friend by the Grands Mulets route when a snow bridge collapsed.  The rescue services were alerted at around 13h00 hours.  Four ski mountaineers were killed in the same area last April after a Serac fall.
