The missing man and his dog have been found by a piste patroller sheltering under foam padding used to protect lift pylons.

The man was suprised by fog and poor light and decided it was prudent to stay put.  He spent the night at 2,200 meters, kept warm by his four legged companion.  Last year four snowboarders spent three nights in a snow cave after getting disorientated in bad weather on Mont Rosset in the Savoie.
