l’Alpe d’Huez closes glacier, Tignes struggles on

After a month of record high temperatures l’Alpe d’Huez decided to close its summer ski area, the Sarenne Glacier today.  Pete Garwood reports that conditions in nearby les Deux Alpes, the largest glacier ski domain in Europe, are very poor.  Our man in Tignes says that the snow park is okay but the glacier is awful.  However contracts with ski teams mean they will carry on, until the 15th of August at least.
