Chamonix Avalanche Claims Climbers

Two climbers, a high mountain guide aged 37 and his 48 year old client from the Vosges, have been killed by an avalanche started by a massive sérac fall on the Glacier Argentière close to Chamonix. The accident happened at 2,300 meters altitude at 17h30 today. Sérac falls are very difficult to predict.
