Brit Boarder Killed in Chamonix Fall

A 24 year old British season worker has been killed after falling 100 meters while snowboarding off-piste on Mont Blanc. Daniel Ramage, a passionate snowboarder from the rural village of Nettlecombe in Dorset had been in France since December. M. Ramage was with a friend at the time of the accident.

The pair had headed off-piste after heavy snowfall. They were both wearing helmets and took a route they knew well but had become slightly disoriented. M. Ramage started to traverse across the mountain when he hit a tree, tumbled and fell. On reaching M. Ramage his friend could not feel a pulse and tried to cardiac massage and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation until the arrival of rescue services whom he had contacted by mobile phone. The snowboarder was dead on arrival at Chamonix hospital.
