Body of Off-Piste Skier recovered in Les 2 Alpes

The body of an Italian off-piste skier was found this evening after a large rescue operation in the lac du Chambon area of the Oisans mountain range. 

The alert was given at 17h00 by a guide who saw the avalanche.  The skier was with a group of three, it is believed that the avalanche was triggered by the skier himself.  The slide, in the Mont de Lans sector below les Deux Alpes was 600 meters long and 20 meters wide.  Three helicopters were involved in the search at around 2,000 meters altitude.
