Avalanche Death at Auron

An avalanche killed one and injured another person on Saturday afternoon within the ski domain of Auron in the Maritime Alps.

The avalanche occurred on a the Bois-Gaston piste, a red, at around 12h30 and hit four people. Two escaped unhurt. Seriously injured, one of the skier died a few hours later in the Saint-Roch hospital in Nice. The rescue services comprised members of the Gendarmerie, CRS, piste patrol along with sniffer dogs.
