It is rare to find a website that has “wow” factor, rarer still when it is the product of a big company. The award winning Nike Sweetspot website is back for its second year. This impressive experiment in tribal marketing promises a new film every fortnight and lets users navigate a virtual globe to find their sweetspot. Nike ACG athletes have been on a voyage of discovery across the planet returning with tales of epic powder, tricks mastered, new experiences, unforgettable sessions and memories. There is even a competition to submit your own sweetspot, the best will appear on the website.
The Sweetspot site is dedicated to extreme mountain sports lovers. Apart from skiing and snowboarding there is basejumping, climbing and kayaking. Sweetspots puts the athletes and quality content first. We loved the clips from Iran and Japan, areas we know little about. Obviously Nike hopes that visitors will also find out more about their sports gear but the commercial aspects don’t get in the way of the content. Surfers can even join the Nike ACG community on facebook to find out more about the spots and the gear.

Davidof, could you please spare us this kind of crap on your valuable blog?
This is nothing but cheap marketing by a design company trying to leverage on “fun” sports to sell even more crap to the mass.
Thanks in advance!

Come on, I’m sure most readers of this site are intelligent enough to enjoy some free content without feeling compelled to buy a new pair of trainers, and that such snark wouldn’t get aimed if it was a more “underground” company funding those films.
Which, for what it’s worth, I enjoyed a lot. Thank you.

It’s not about intelligence, it’s about image and values.....to different worlds!
