Getting accurate information about ski conditions that hasn’t been run through the Skibizz filter has got considerably easier with the Internet. Apart from our own subforum, oriented towards backcountry ski and avalanche conditions in the French Alps there are some other sources of information. One such are the eclectic Snowhead’s Snow Reports.
Snowheads is a UK based ski forum with quite an international reach. Amongst the recent threads are snow reports from Hokkaido, Yad Moss (in England) and Northern Ireland although the main focus are North American, French and Austrian resorts. The reports are contributed by locals, both season workers and permanent residents as well as Snowheads on their travels. This gives a wide mix of views.
If you are into touring in France, Swizterland or Italy then check out MetaSkiRando. It is a feed almagamtor of the top touring websites including CampToCamp, SkiTour.fr, Bivouak and Gulliver.
Finally a “heads-up” for the more “core” Euroskiers, Scope out the long running “Snow for the Euros” thread on Tetongravity. At 200+ pages can their server take much of this?
