According to the Dauphine Libere the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc (CMB) has installed a 750m² tarpaulin on the col des Grands Montets to protect the foot of the glacier and the Pointe du Vue ski run which is becoming steeper and more crevassed at this point. The glacier is apparently losing 60cm of depth each year (295cm on 2009).
