There’s been a large avalanche involving a party of 9 Germans near Ayer, the precise location isn’t too clear. Three are reported dead and the local police are saying it was 500m wide and long. The slopes above Ayer aren’t good this time of year but I’m not sure just where this was.

The police report is here : http://www.vs.ch/Navig/navig.asp?MenuID=2009

Can’t quite work out where that is, above Ayer is a bit vague. I think we’re seeing around the L’Omèn Roso on that video.

The police report has some photo’s, it does look like L’Omèn Roso to me, a good touring area I’ve skied many times. These photo’s are from the cantonale police, I copied them to resize them

Just found another report which is saying the Nava area which is what I’d guessed. This is the area we mentioned a couple of weeks back, Alan mentioned a route from Zinal IIRC, that would cover some of this ground.
