It is a subject close to our hearts. The tiny ski area of les Signaraux has suffered a major act of vandalism to its unique tow and it may not be able to open this winter. As Pistehors.com readers will recall the ski area is a non-profit organisation run by some very friendly and helpful volunteers. The tow takes you to the top of a bowl where four main pistes descend back to the parking lot. At the start of the season the building that houses the bottom station of the lift was torched by arsonists using petrol. A couple of days later the vandals returned to finish the job, stripping out the control box. The resort reckons they will lose 20,000 euros. Here is a short film showing the area from last winter.

Sounds like someone with an axe to grind, lets hope the police catch up with whoever it is.
