The International Standards Organisation has updated its ski touring boot standard. The document covers the interface with bindings to ensure that they release safely. The standard applies to rigid adult size boots, otherwise ISO says they cannot ensure safe release.
ISO say the standard is necessary for interoperability to ensure that manufacturers can sell sufficient quantities to make production economically viable. The new standard replaces the old standard dating from 1990.
