A slight rebranding for the Mondial du Ski which becomes the Mondial du Freeski this autumn. Otherwise it is the usual les Deux Alpes kick off event.

For all regular visitors, please note that this year it’s the Freeskiers who will be enjoying the very first snowfall! That’s right, Les 2 Alpes will be launching the 2008 season with the 1st Mondial du Freeski, followed the weekend after by the 19th Mondial du Snowboard.
The Mondial du Freeski event brings with it a wind of change; the Core brands will be unveiling their mind-blowing skis and fantastic new products for you to try out for free and to your heart’s desire.
The 1st Mondial du Freeski is also a showcase for the top riders, giving them a chance to show-off their moves both on the glacier, in large screen film previews, as well as in person during the resort’s Freestyle show on the Saturday evening.
Like cowboys fresh out of the saloon, ready to fight it out in the main street, the riders, armed with their skis, will set the tone during the « best tricks ». This Far West inspired duel challenge will take place in the snowpark, extended especially for the occasion.
As a leading resort that is open to new ideas, Les 2 Alpes will once again prove its capacity to design and create modules for a stunning show, both in the snowpark during the Freestyle show, and in the resort centre.
After the pros, the general public will also be able to indulge in the joys of Freeski, kitted out with test skis from their favourite core brand.
As for the Snowboarders, they will have to wait until the following weekend to enjoy the snow and sunshine.
The numerous different brands that are expected this year will undoubtedly pull out all the stops to impress their experienced audience. They too will demonstrate their technical prowess, both on the ground and in the air.This year’s programme includes free equipment tests at 3200 metres on the glacier, spectacular activities and entertainments in the resort, an Awards ceremony on the Friday evening rewarding the best riders of the year, a Freestyle show on the Saturday evening and an airbag where the general public can try out new moves in complete safety…
Not forgetting clothing and accessories! It doesn’t make any difference whether you’re a skier or a snowboarder; fashion is key and a way of showing whether you belong to the freestyle or freeride tribe…not to be taken lightly!
The different brands are fully aware of this and by encouraging the general public to discover and try out their new products, Les 2 Alpes becomes the launchpad of new trends.
