The south side of the Brèche de la Meije (Oisans) has been cleaned and safety equipment installed by the PGHM and Oisans-Ecrins guides. This work has been made necessary by the retreat of the glacier des Étançons, which has rendered the south approach difficult and dangerous. Loose and unstable rock was removed and belay points installed.

Rappel points in yellow. The route on the right can only be taken descending, it ends in a 25 meter rappel onto the glacier.
