The Afghan Ski Challenge is a ski alpinism race which is held every March in the Koh-e-Baba Mountain Range, Bamiyan Province, Central Afghanistan, approximately 180km west of the capital Kabul. The event is organized by the Bamiyan Ski Club and open to all, the one rule No Guns!. The course is over 7 Kilometers with a 1200 meter height difference with the lowest point at 2900m and highest point 3400m. Everyone starts at the same time. The winner is the first person to cross the finish line having successfully registered at all the check points along the way.
