Max the stork’s migrations were sometimes taken as a sign of climate change as she spent less and less of her winter in North Africa and Spain. We’ve followed her flights for years so it is with sad news that we have learned of her death in Spain, just to the south of Madrid, at the ripe old age of 13. Cause of death is unclear but she may have hit a power line.

Thanks to ISE for the heads-up on this.

She was born in Avenches, the one time Roman capital of Switzerland. We used to live just outside the roman walls and I’ve a few photos of the storks in Avenches.

Can’t tell if that’s Max or not, even the experts couldn’t figure out th gender so I’m sure I can’t tell them apart. So let’s say it’s Max or one of the extended family

Not some times, every time her migration is a indication of climate change and it is truth.
She is not single bird even the many others give indications about climate.
