Post resorts that are opening early season here.

France: Les 7 Laux, partial opening Wednesday on Pipay side, probably until the weekend.
Switzerland: Lac de Vaux, Verbier rumoured for Saturday

Glacier Resorts: Tignes, les Deux Alpes, Zermatt, Saas Fee, Engleberg

And for Cervinia…

“Winter season will commence on the weekends of the 13th-14th and 20th-21st October and everyday from the 27th October until the 5th May … 6 months of great skiing”.

Hopefully including access to Zermatt.

The col de Porte is open for Cross Country and Skating

Val Thorens opened today for the winter. 6 lifts are open serving 3 reds, 5 greens and a blue run. Montgenevre in the Hautes Alpes opened last weekend and will open again this weekend.

None of the Pyrenean resorts on the French side will open this weekend, despite what you may have read on skipass.com this week. There is not enough snow.

Openings this weekend.

Montgenèvre

Partially open since the 17 novembre full opening for the season from the 1st December along with the cross country ski area.

Tignes

Link with Val d’Isere should open on Saturday.

Savoie Grand Revard

Cross country skiing will open in the Bauges this weekend.

Chamrousse

Opening Saturday, 40cm at the village level this morning.

Les 7 Laux

The piste bashers are operating at Pipay this morning. Opening expected on Saturday following the opening at half term.

Le Collet d’Allevard

Opening this weekend subject to conditions.


Les Deux-Alpes

Reopening after the half term week.

Val d’Isère

Ski tests with the Ski Force Winter Tour

La Clusaz

The Balme sector will open for the weekend including the Bergerie restaurant.

6th December:
Late to the party l’Alpe d’Huez should open. Our scouts already skied the slopes above 2200 during the week and report good conditions.

8th December

Monêtier les Bains/Serre Chevalier

The Pyrenees got less snow than they expected and we’ll have to wait for Thursday to see if any resorts will be able to open their doors.

Le Collet d’Allevard, Chamrousse and les Sept Laux are confirmed openings for Saturday/Sunday and they are joined by Meaudre and Lans en Vercors in the Vercors range.  The cross country domains of le Barioz will also open (close to les 7 laux) and the Col de Porte and le Sappey-en-Chartreuse (in the Chartreuse).

Orelle will open (link to Val Thorens) but watch out for bad weather on Sunday.

Pyrenees:

les Angles and Font Romeu are open on the French side as well as the Cross country ski area of Nistos. Ax-3-Domaines will open on the 5th December followed by Peyragudes on the 6th. On the Spanish side Grandvalira (Andorra) et Baqueira Beret with 90km of runs are open.

For Font Romeu, 10 open pistes in the Airelles sector and return to Pyrénées 2000. 8 lifts operating including the town centre gondola. 15€ for the day.

La Faucile and Metabief in the Jura.

The downhill part of the Col de Marcieu in the Chartreuse opened on the 1st December.

In Chamonix, both Grands Montets and Les Houches will be open daily from the 8th Dec.
