Someone fell into a crevasse yesterday in the Vallee Blanche just below the Requin Hut.  Does anyone know what happened?  The PGHM was still trying to pull them out when we went by.

BTW, there were a couple of slides running across the track into the Requin.  Not a problem getting through, but think twice about doing the VB late in the day until it gets colder.

Good warning about the VB, about to post an account on the front page. We don’t often think of the avalanche risk on the route but more of the crevasses.

That slide on the way down from the buvette was surprising - it was in the trees and seemed relatively sheltered.  On a similar note, the Montenvers train has shut until Wednesday at least following a slide across the tracks.  Here’s an article from Le Dauphine:  http://www.ledauphine.com/haute-savoie/2012/02/26/le-train-du-montenvers-est-ferme-au-moins-jusqu-a-mercredi
